Agreement to terms

These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”) and National Digital Repository (“we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your access to and use of this National Digital Repository (hereafter, “Site”). By accessing or using this Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Use, including any future amendments.

The Site has been established under the project Digitization and Preservation of Library Resources (DPLR), led by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), managed by Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED), with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The National Digital Library (NDL) integrates major libraries of Nepal to ensure preservation and universal access to digitized cultural and academic heritage.

Purpose of the Site

  • To digitize and preserve Nepalese cultural and academic heritage.
  • To integrate physical and born-digital resources from multiple libraries into a centralized access platform.
  • To provide universal access to learning and research resources.
  • To adopt global standards for interoperability, metadata, and digital infrastructure.

Intellectual property rights

Unless otherwise indicated, all digitized content, metadata, and system designs on this Site (collectively, the "Content") are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws of the United States and international conventions. The Content is provided “AS IS” for information, education, and research purposes.

Users may access and use materials for personal, non-commercial study and research only. Redistribution, modification, or commercial use without prior permission from the rights holder is strictly prohibited. We reserve all rights not expressly granted in these Terms.

User responsibilities

  • Ensure use of materials complies with copyright, license, and laws of Nepal.
  • Do not upload, distribute, or transmit materials that infringe the rights of others, or that contain offensive, unlawful, or harmful content.
  • Respect the cultural and academic integrity of the materials.

Amendments

These Terms of Use may be updated as required. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site implies acceptance of the updated Terms.
